OOPS!!!

Hey Geek Guys and Gals!

I have to apologize to you all! I promised a Quickie, and while editing it, ran out of time before I left for an AMAZING trip to Bali, Indonesia. I forgot that I was taking my other laptop (without the editing software) and couldn't finish before my flight in order to post as promised! Ironically, the topic of the quickie was travel gadgets that help me stay organized and equipped while traveling. OOPSIES!! LOL.

Anyhow, I'm back in town now, and getting into the swing of things, and promise to finish the Quickie and post it in the next few days.

Thanks for hanging in there!

In the meantime, email me at geek.girl@earthlink.net if you have any questions, feedback, or just want to send me a note! Or, use this time to check out all of my videos on YouTube by clicking HERE.

Stay tuned!

Cheers,

Geek Girl

I hope you had a great time during your vacation!

I think on one of Ross' blogs you said that you had an iPhone. I wanted to see if maybe you could do a video on your fave features and apps and what you think can be improved on it.

Yay! I hope that you can do a video on the iPhone. It isn't perfect yet (hello where is copy & paste?, MMS, etc) but it is getting there. I would love to hear your thoughts on it.

Marisol-do you mind if i quote you in the podcast that i'm doing on the iphone? i'd love to incorporate your comments! OR, if you can do this, i'd LOVE for you to videotape yourself speaking about what you posted here on camera, as if you were talking to me, and emailing me the video (or even posting it to youtube and sending me a link!) that way i can include video of you speaking about the topic in MY video! either way, let me know!

cheers,

Daria aka GeekGirl :)

Hi Daria-

Sorry it took me a while to get back to you. You can definitely quote me. Some of my feedback on the iphone-

It will be pretty hard for me to change from the iPhone to a different phone. I won't say never but I have never been so attached to a phone like this before. I think what I like so much about it is that it is so much more than a phone. It fits my lifestyle to a T. I love that I can be anywhere and if I need to go somewhere, I can pull out my Google maps and get perfect directions to my desired location. With the App store, I am able to track my tasks for the day and my money. And yeah play a couple of games too. There are so many good features about it that I haven't even mentioned.

But there are also some gripes about it.
First, copy & paste. Seems like a simple enough feature but I can't believe it isn't incorporated. I really hope that this is on Apple's to do list. Also MMS - I have gotten around to email pics but not everyone has a smartphone. And the View My Message site is horrible. How can I see the picture if I need a userid and password? Would seem more efficient that you can click on the link and it wold automatically bring up the picture. A video camera - it is possible to have one based on some of the jailbroken apps I have seen. So why not utilize it? Improving the quality of the camera would also be a great fix. Its a decent camera but it would be so much more.

There are certainly things that the iPhone is lacking but for me the pros outweigh the cons.
